Art is a passion, a purpose and a way of life. Even as a child I would add a colorful flourish to every project. Local color, emotional color, provocative color or just wild-and-crazy-color for colors sake, I offer a feast for your imagination. Not content to limit my creative exploration I often add collage, clay, paper, wood or even mosaic to my work.
Currently my studio/gallery is in Foscoe, NC, not far from Boone in the Appalachian Mountains. Yet I find inspiration everywhere, from my bedroom chair to the castles of Italy; my travels, the changing landscape and quirky “objects of desire” all end up on my canvas. Even coastal Florida, my home base for many years, continues to be an influence.
I make art because painting gives me joy. When you hang my work I want it to delight you as well. Art tells a story, shares an emotion, moves us, or causes a spark of connection. Don’t settle because it matches your sofa…fall in love! You won’t regret any acquisition when that happens.
I have also done art for several books (see tab), participated in collaborative projects, authored a blog for many years, shown in ArtWorks of Eau Gallie, and exhibited in numerous shows. My work has found homes in FL, NC, SC, UT, WA, DC, MD, TX and TN. I am currently in the Crossnore Gallery of Fine Art in Crossnore, NC.
A personal goal is that every time you look at my art you discover something new, something you may not have seen the first time, and when that happens I have done my job.
