Art is a passion, a purpose and a way of life. Even as a child I would add a colorful flourish to every project. Local color, emotional color, provocative color or just wild-and-crazy-color for colors sake, I offer a feast for your imagination. Not content to limit my creative exploration I often experiment in collage, clay, paper, wood, even mosaic - on crazy days I might mix them all together!
Currently my studio/gallery is in Foscoe, NC, not far from Boone in the Appalachian Mountains. Yet I find inspiration everywhere, from my bedroom chair to the castles of Italy; my travels, the changing landscape and quirky “objects of desire” all end up on my canvas. Even coastal Florida, my home base for many years, continues to be an influence.
I make art to communicate. When you hang my work I want it to speak to you. Paths are often found in my work as are trees and barns which often become metaphors for my concerns. Art can tell a story, share an emotion, move us, or fuel a spark of connection. When you fall in love with a piece you will never regret owning it.
If you are in the High Country come by for a studio visit! I'm off Highway 105 in Foscoe, in the Mill Ridge Shops at Clubhouse Drive. Give me a call at 321-795-0816 to check on open hours.
AND...... I enjoy teaching privately or in small groups, a one-off or a concentrated series. For further info send me a note and let me know what interests you.
In addition to exploring multi-media I also enjoy doing collaborative work with other artists. Should you have a desire to work towards this just contact me with your ideas. I have written and illustrated small books (see the tab above) as well as participated in themed shows and exhibits. Art is not only decorative, it is a valuable form of self-expression and I am constantly striving for new ways to share this colorful communication.
For nearly ten years I posted a weekly blog detailing the process of my work as well as other aspects of the art world. You may find these entries at www.cindymichaudart.blogspot.com

What Clients Are Saying
"Cindy was a delight to visit. My son and I enjoyed our time in her studio immensely. She took special interest engaging him and fueling his interest in art."
"I've given my grandchildren the gift of a lesson with Cindy each summer when they visit and they never fail to return excited and stimulated...and with a painting they can take home and hang!"
"We knew we loved the painting but Cindy encouraged us to feel free to hang it, live with it a bit and to return it if we were't totally happy. We did not return it but it was nice to know she was so easy to work with. We will do more business with her."
